I’m rarely depressed.  I’m one of those annoyingly happy exuberant types.  Except when I’m down.  When I’m down, I’m really down.
When I’m down I tell everyone.  Not in a feel-sorry-for-me way, but in a warning way.  Being depressed is just as contagious as being happy, and I would hate to bring down someone I care.  I tell them to stay away, especially family members, unless they want to hear me ranting and raving in a most unreasonable (and very unladylike)  manner.
